What makes good Squidtop blog?

Not much Squidooing, other than catching up with a few threads in the Forum and seeing who has posted here. Plus a bit of updating on my lens on Otosclerosis to explain what Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is as I started it today. It gave me a mild headache but apart from that I was fine. It is good to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

So what makes a good Squidtop blog? What do you like to see? Are you only on here to promote your own stuff? Do you visit other blogs? Do you just want to read about Squidoo or do you want people to blog whatever comes into their head? I’d be interested to know.

What do I think makes a good Squidtop blog? hmmm… Well, I think the best posts are those that reveal the creative process in creating a lens, a post rounding up some good lenses that are uniquely related to one another, some test results from a Squidoo seo experiment, or of course some juicy Squidoo tips. But, I also like to see diary posts, too. It keeps us in touch with trends that are going on on Squidoo.

    :)

The ones that I think many of us read religiously are the ones that perhaps reveal useful information about working online.

As long as what’s being posted is interesting. I’m mostly interested in Squidoo related stuff here, but I may not have time to check out other blogs by the same authors so personal info is good, too. Or at least leave a link back to personal blog posts to get those interested to visit there, too.

I find reading about the newest lenses here more interesting than a squidcast, that’s for sure!

I visit other posts, but then, I regularly visit other lenses too, and always check my favorites folder to see who has updated or published a new lens. I think a lot of people just go on doing their thing and don’t visit other blogs, lenses. I enjoy it though

I just like to see what everyone is doing, what they think about lenses, what lenses strike a cord with them. I don’t like posts to be super long.

I visit the Squidtop blogs of maybe a dozen regular posters, because they have often something interesting to say. It’s not just tips on how to create or promote lenses though, I like to read about their new lens ideas, and also what they have been doing outside of Squidoo as well.

I don’t know how popular Squidtop is outside of the few of us that are regulars, so probably only 5 or 6 people read my blog regularly, but I do get backlinks from my posts which helps.

As well as updates on how my lenses are doing, I like to write about what’s going on in my life, since on other blogs people seem to find that interesting, and I feel that maybe if I make the posts interesting enough, then people from outside of Squidoo might also start reading my blog here. New readers means more exposure for my lenses, and also for all of us, since we are all linked on Squidtop, so I have my blog here promoted on Tagfoot, Stumbleupon, and my other web sites as well.
