Today I am very weary – email grief!

I am very weary because what energy I currently have, has leached away following a nasty exchange of emails – not emails that I have composed, I should add. Why oh why, do nasty, petty people use emails as a weapon to make digs at people? And then when they are confronted with their extremely bad behaviour say that they have been mis-interpreted?

I have said it in one of my lenses and I will say it again here: “Praise in public, criticise in private!”

Another tip is to not use the “reply to all” button indiscriminately because you cant be bothered to carefully select the recipients or you never got around to creating a group. How many emails have you seen that have been sent as a result of hitting the “reply to all” button on an email that was sent weeks ago and has diddly squat to do with the message that has just been sent?

LH (Lovely Hubby) and I decided we were not going to stand by and do nothing. We needed to make the point that we do not want this type of message landing in our in-box. It was sent by the hopefully soon to be ex-member of a group we both belong to and we have done two things: we have sent a joint e-mail to the committee voicing our concerns and we will be sending a polite email to the sender asking her not to send us any more emails like this. One of the members that the comments were aimed at has also made her position clear, but the whole episode just leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

Because of my poor health at the moment, I have found the whole situation utterly exhausting. It is very time-consuming drafting a joint tactful and diplomatic email and LH and I nearly came to blows about it last night. However, in the calm of the morning I have taken a step back and I know he is right. A message to the committee is better than just hitting the “reply to all button” ourselves!

So tiredness leads to dreadful short term memory problems, getting even more giddy than I normally do when I am standing or walking and it also leads to procrastination. I have several WIPS that I should be getting on with, two lenses that need a complete overhaul, I need to decide what URL I want for a Christmas lens and I need to start working on it. I think the idea I have is a bit different, but I also need to do some research to see what else is already out there.

I doubt that I will publish a new lens this week, which is the first time for ages, but I have been refreshing and generally giving my older lenses some TLC and I must confess I have been absorbed by some of the stuff going on in the Forum this week, some of it rather disappointing and some of it inspirational.

Autumn hit the UK on Tuesday, following an all too brief Indian Summer and the wind is now coming from the north. My Dad says a White Christmas is predicted. We shall see!

If it’s any consolation, it’s been raining here in South Florida too.
    Not cold though thankfully…
Hope you have a good weekend.
