Main site has just gone down so I will blog instead

A mixed day – various things kicking off in the Forum, including the use of an Avatar by “someone”, who we are starting to think is a fella but is using a rather “revealing” photo of a “lady”. The worry is that this person will favourite a lens and oh boy, I do not want that photo on my lenses. It’s been bad enough with all the controversy about the Glam ads but if I get this picture on my APD lens for example it will not do my reputation any good with some of the external organisations I am trying to encourage to visit. It’s been reported by another Lensmaster.

Am also battling with some HTML as I want to put some small AllPosters photos in a module and I want to alternate between right and left with the text about the person to one side. I cant get it to work, because the “Buy at AllPosters.com” label wont budge and stays to the left even when I put the picture on the right. I am probably missing the blooming obvious but grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

On the plus side no horrendous drops in ranking today and I now have a new best lens: Squid Etiquette – I still cant believe how well it has done and I still have more to add to it.

Counting the days until I start my physiotherapy on 16 October as my lack of coordination is getting worse. Have had a few “ouch” moments as I have banged into something – I am told that the physio is very good and I should start to get back to normal but it has been a long haul since it all started going wrong in April.

Having a hearing aid does have it’s advantages though. Our neighbours are having a new drive so it’s been rather noisy at times today. So I just take out the hearing aid – bliss!

Oh, I had one hearing aid in my life…drove me nuts. Too much I was unaccustomed to hearing and it was sensory overload! Being deaf does indeed have it’s advantages, AND many disadvantages.

Oh, and I can’t find any posts about an offensive Avatar. They must have taken it down?

I had the same problem with the art.om links. It had to do with the placement. I finally had to dump the code into dreamweaver and align it there then cut it paste it back into my piece.

One thing Debbie and I did on our Ney York lens (http://www.squidoo.com/new_york_city_break) is to use html with a picture either left or right justified to display images in the text modules.

Of course it’s not that easy with allposters.com – I don’t like all the white space around their images in the text/write module really, but since we can’t use Javascript or tables we are more limited.

Good Luck with figuring out the problem.
    It’s probably something silly…
    Usually is…
